Franciscart - Contemporary classical music
Before starting the Rafart project, I pursued academic music composition at P. Universidad Catolica de Chile from 2005 to 2009. During this time, I focused on academic composition and wrote scores for different types of ensembles and solo performers. Although my pieces were primarily written in an atonal style, they had a strong sense of harmony.
For different reasons, many of my compositions were never performed or recorded. Moreover, the performed and recorded ones could have had better audio quality, so I never published them. Consequently, most of my work from this era remained hidden in a drawer for years.
I eventually became distanced from the classical composer's path for different reasons - I lost interest in the style and was generally disillusioned with academic music's elitism. As a result, I stopped pursuing this path.
After many years, I recently started recreating my pieces digitally using virtual orchestration and taking advantage of the lower recording costs available today. I'm doing this to document my early explorations and better understand my evolution as a musician. I have decided to release these compositions under the name Franciscart, a combination of my first and last names.
